Lots of people want to know what freemasons do. The best ambassadors should be us, the freemasons. Many brethren seem to have an uncertain knowledge of the craft. There is a ton of information, there have been books and pamphlets out there for anyone to read for the last 300 years. The masons, especially, those well informed should answer peoples questions in an open and straightforward manner. It is only in the last 20 years that many grand lodges from all around the world have swung open their doors and invited the public in for an extensive look at the fraternity and what it does. This transparency may represent the largest distinction between the freemasons of today and those of previous generations.
