Anthony L Sayer was born in 1672. He is known to us as the first grand master, and was elected in 1717 in london. on june 24th, saint john the baptists day. The following year he served as the Senior Grand Warden and in 1723 he served as a warden for the Fortitude and Old Cumberland Lodge. Starting in 1733 he was the tyler for another lodge, indicating that he remained active and involved. He was one of the few grand masters who did not come from the aristocracy. He died in 1742
