Paul Revere was born in 1734 in Boston Massachusetts. Most know him as a silversmith and patriot. Made a freemason at St Andrews Lodge in 1760 he was an active member and progressed through the line until becoming master in 1770 where he served for 9 consecutive years. In 1794 he was elected to be the second Grand Master of the newly formed Grand Lodge of Massachussets. During the next three years, Most Worshipful Revere would charter 23 new lodges and focus the full weight of his authority on maintaining the quality of men that were being initiated into the craft. To this day, the Grand Master of Massachusets maintains the Revere tradition of wearing a Tricorn Hat. Paul Revere died in his home in 1818.
