Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese is a well known tavern in the City of London. It stands among the oldest remaining original London taverns. After the Great London Fire of 1966, the tavern was quickly rebuilt. To this day, portions of the tavern's interior remains preserved as they were in 1667. The Cheshire Cheese holds a wealth of rich history, both locally and internationally. The tavern touts that it's doors have been open during the reign of 15 monarchs dating back from the early 16th century. This cherished tavern is likely the closest one can come to visiting the Goose and Gridiron where the Grand Lodge of London was formed in 1717. The Cheshire Cheese's original guestbook bears the signatures of many dignitaries, prime ministers, and literary figures such as Twain, Dickens, and Thackeray. Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese is a perfect place to grab a pint and create memories with your friends and family, the way our Masonic Forefathers have done so many years ago.
