The Festive Board
E. L. Hannam
Brethren stand to await the call,
From the D.C. at the door,
Brethren receive your Worshipful Master
As he escorts him across the floor.
The Master sounds his gavel, as
All stand behind their chairs.
Pray silence for the Chaplain,
Who will lead us all in prayers.
The Brethren then are seated,
Their wine glassed to the brim.
The I.P.M. performs his task,
At the toast list he begins.
As he sounds the worthy gavel
The Master will then rise
Brother Wardens, now report your charge
With their gavels they reply.
Fully charged in the West, Worshipful Master
From the Senior warden's chair
Fully charged in the South, Worshipful Master
Under the Junior Warden's care.
The toast list then is followed
Along with flowing wine
Plus that special toast across the world,
To Absent Brethren at the stroke of nine.
At this point a special poem,
From IMPS can now be read
These said words from Rudyard Kipling,
To assist their daily bread
