Old Master's Words to the Young Mason
Landon Hendricks
For Many years I've had the right,
To wear an apron made of white.
And it still fills me with delight
To see a Lodge perform a Rite.
For I remember Oh so well,
The Ancient legends they did tell.
Once I had knocked upon the door,
And knelt to pray upon the floor.
Examinations quite complete,
When approached the Master's seat.
And then I took an ancient vow,
Almost the same as it is now.
And then received my Badge of white,
Which marked a very special night.
My father and grandfathers too,
Were members of a Lodge of blue.
And when a kinsman gives to you,
The oath that all of us took too.
It means as much to him as you,
double bond between you two.
So we celebrate tonight,
That you have seen the Masonic Light,
And that your kinsman in the chair
Had such a chance extremely rare.
Congratulations I give you
And to the Brother, Master, too.
