Audie Murphy

Born June 20 1925 Initiated February 14, 1955 Raised Died May 28th 1971 Audie Leon Murphy was born on June 20 1925 in Kingston, Texas. Murphy is world renown as one of the most highly decorated American soldiers to have fought in combat during World War II. The U.S. Military has awarded Murphy every possible combat valor award available including the Medal of Honor. In addition, Murphy received decorations from Belgium and France. In 1945, Murphy began an acting career in Hollywood, and most notably played himself in the big hit feature film "To Hell and Back" (1955). On February 14, 1955, Murphy was regularly initiated at the North Hollywood Lodge No. 542 in Hollywood, California. Two years later, he became a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason In Dallas, Texas, and became a Shriner at Hella Temple the same year. In 1956, he was made a "Master of the Royal Secret" in the Valley of Dallas and was also decorated a Knight Commander of the Court of Honor (KCCH). His affiliations include the Heritage Lodge No. 764 in North Hollywood, Al Malaikah Shrine Temple in Los Angeles, and The Long Beach Scottish Rite Consistory. Brother Audie Murphy was called from labor on May 28th 1971 at the age of 45 and is laid to rest with full military honors at the Arlington National Cemetery.
