John Desaguliers

John Theophilus Desaguliers was born on March 12, 1683 in Rochelle, France. Desagulier was a well renown lecturer and experimental philosopher, and is credited for the invention of the planetarium. His expansive knowledge of early Masonic manuscripts, history, and philosophy gained him Fellowship in the English Royal Society. Desaguliers was elected Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of England in 1719 and subsequently served as Deputy Grand Master in 1723 and 1725. Brother John Desaguliers was called from labor on February 29, 1744.
