Robert Burns was born on January 25, 1759 in Alloway, Scotland. Burns is world renown for his poetry and is known as the Poet Laureate of Lodge Cannongate Kilwinning No. 2. In 1784, Burns was raised at Saint David's Lodge No. 174 at Tarbolton. Burns was also a member of Saint James' Lodge No. 178 (now 135) and served as the Depute Master in 1784. Brother Robert Burns was called from labor on July 21, 1796 at the age of 37.
