Arthur Wellesly

Born May 1, 1769 Initiated December 7, 1790 Raised Died September 14, 1852 Duke of Wellington, born Arthur Wellesley, was born on May 1, 1769 in Dublin Ireland. Wellesley was an active soldier of the British Army. In 1796, Wellesley was assigned to serve in India. Nine years later, he was knighted and became a member of the Irish Parlement. In 1814 he returned to service and defeated Napoleon at Waterloo the following year. Wellesley returned to politics and in 1828, was called to serve as Prime Minister. Arthur Wellesley was Initiated at Trim Lodge No. 494 in Meath, Ireland on December 7, 1790. Brother Wellesley was called from labor on September 14, 1852.
