Fontanes, Marquis Louis De
Born at Niort, France, March 6, 1757; he died at Paris, March 17, 1821. Poet and statesman; President of the Corps Legislatif, head of the Imperial University and Senator under Napoleon I; a member of the famous Lodge of Sine Sisters, his name appears on the lists of members for 1783, 1784, and 1806 (see Une Loge Maonnique, Louis Amiable, 1897, page 308). Created a marquis and a peer by Louis XVIII.
