Joseph Rudyard Kipling was born on December 30, 1865 in Bombay, India. Kipling relocated to England to pursue his studies. In 1882 Kipling returned to India and began making himself known as a gifted poet and author. He published more than 80 highly respected works, which would later earn him the coveted Nobel Prize for Literature. On April 5, 1886 Kipling was initiated at Hope and Perseverance Lodge No. 782 in Lahore, India. Brother Kipling died on January 18, 1936.
