The Duke of Wellington, born Arthur Wellesley, was born on May 1, 1769 in Dublin Ireland. Wellesley was an active soldier in the British Army. In 1796, he was assigned to serve in India. Nine years later, he was knighted and became a member of the Irish Parlement. In 1814 he returned to military service. He defeated Napoleon at Waterloo the following year. Wellesley returned to politics in 1828 and was called to serve as Prime Minister. He was Initiated at Trim Lodge No. 494 in Meath, Ireland on December 7, 1790. Brother Wellesley died on September 14, 1852.
